Summer Afternoon Tea
I couldn’t let the warm weather pass without enjoying an summer afternoon tea with friends on my deck. I love this gorgeous summer weather and a spur of the moment afternoon tea was just what the day called for. I invited my best girlfriends over to enjoy tea and mimosas, and of course, some yummy nibbles.
I absolutely love entertaining my friends and making everything special for them. I didn’t want to use the good china for an outdoor party so I pulled together a more eclectic table setting with a variety of colors and patterns.
Every good summer outdoor party needs fresh flowers and plants. I just love the beautiful colors. And this aromatic tea scented candle set the mood.
I found these charming tea bags to help set the summer mood. Just look at the array of summer colors and tie-dye patterns.
Fresh blueberry scones and apple tea cakes were served warm with Devonshire cream and jam. More fresh flowers tucked into the folds of the napkin brought even more vibrancy to my summer afternoon tea.
Along with Mini Spinach Quiche and Lemon Basil Chicken Salad in phyllo cups. On a hot day, nice cold water is a must, but it doesn’t have to be boring. I tossed some fresh orange, lemon, and lime slices in for a summer citrus water.
Don’t let this warm weather pass you by without enjoying a summer afternoon tea with friends!
